Rao Maldeo Rathore (r. 1532–1562) was a prominent ruler of the Rathore dynasty in the Marwar region of present-day Rajasthan, India. He succeeded his father Rao Jodha as the ruler of Marwar in 1532.

During his reign, Rao Maldeo expanded the territory of Marwar by annexing nearby kingdoms and consolidating his hold over his own kingdom. He was a brave and skilled warrior and is said to have personally led his troops in battle against the Mughals and other invaders.

Rao Maldeo was also a patron of the arts and architecture. He commissioned the construction of several forts, palaces, and temples, including the famous Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, which is considered one of the largest and most impressive forts in India. He also built the beautiful Rajput-style temple of Rishabhdeo in Sirohi district.

In addition to his military and cultural accomplishments, Rao Maldeo was known for his administrative skills and his commitment to justice. He introduced several reforms aimed at improving the lives of his subjects, including measures to improve agriculture and trade, and to reduce corruption.

Rao Maldeo died in 1562 and was succeeded by his son, Rao Chandrasen. He is remembered as one of the greatest rulers of Marwar and as a symbol of the valor and chivalry of the Rajputs.
